my weekend + coming events

last friday, the husband & i made use of our complimentary annivesary hotel stay + dinner at concorde kl.

we got a voucher for their premier executive room which meant we checked in via the premier lounge which meant that we didnt have to queue for too long which also meant that we could lepak at the lounge having lavazza (i only had one due to the bump) & cookies. hmm, they had fruits & an array of softdrinks & juices too. the concorde premier lounge isnt as good as in other hotels (parkroyal provides a buffet spread & apparently MO is even better) but its still better than if we only got one of the normal rooms which doesnt give access to the premier lounge izenit.

anyways, i was happy with the room but the husband wasnt. lers, only one night stay mah. we were just going to watch tv anyways. oh ya hehehe... the reason why he wasnt happy was not so much because of the room but the bathroom. more specifically, the lack of a bum-washer in the toilet bowl itself or even a convenient mini-spray located within reach. hehehe. such a malaysian thing.

we had dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants. it was superbbbb... i had steak and he had lamb shanks. initially, the portion looked small for the rather exorbitant price (lucky we got dinner voucher too) but actually, the portion was just nice. we didnt do much in the room except laze & watch tv. not that i was in the mood for anything else what with the bump & the backache & the heartburn blabla... but we had a nice time.

the husband's bday is coming up in 2 weeks. mine is in july before the baby comes. our 1st year anniversary is also coming up in early july. the husband & i agreed that we will give ourselves an everything-in-one present seeing as everything is happening about the same time plus we're saving for mr babys arrival. not only is it an everything-in-one gift, we're probably also getting a his&hers kinda gift. no romantic surprise there which is fine by me cos i hate surprises. & he hates it when he buys me something i dont like. hehehe... over the years we've learnt that the key to keep from being disappointed is to tell / ask for what we really want. doesnt mean that theres no room for any spontaneity. i'm planning on getting him a cake he really really loves & has been craving for since 2006 when my brother ordered it for the husband's bday that year. i hope i can get the same cake here in kl. thats my surprise for him.

i know it doesnt look like much but trust me, it was so sinfully rich. even i, the non-cake-lover, fell in love with it. yummmm...
